or these?
Well, here is a video clip of Jerry Seinfeld's quote...
Jerry Seinfeld said, "According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy." After death comes judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Based on the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20), how would you do? Ever lied? Whether it's white lies, fibs, or exaggerations you'd be a liar. Ever stolen anything? Whether it's a MILLION DOLLARS or penny, you'd be a thief in God's eyes. Ever murdered anybody? Before you answer, consider that "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer" (1 John 3:15). Ever hated? If so, God sees you as a murderer. Innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Picture yourself in a courtroom. You admit to breaking three laws. You owe a $1,000,000. You don't have the money. The bailiff begins to lead you off to jail... All of a sudden, someone you have never met (like the person who handed you this bill) steps in and pays your fine. You are free to go! How would you feel? This is a picture of the Gospel. God does not want you to go to Hell (1 Timothy 2:4). Two thousand years ago, God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to earth. Jesus being fully God and fully man; had no sin, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the Law and then willingly became the perfect sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. He died on a cross to pay for your sin (1 John 2:2). Jesus rose from the dead, defeating sin, death and the devil. Don't be like the person in Jerry Seinfeld's story, "concerned" about death but more worried about other things. Repent (turn from your sin) and believe the Gospel, God will forgive your sin and give you eternal life (Mark 1:15).
